Dr. Richard Hayashi

“I chose a career in dentistry not only to help people stay healthy but to have a positive impact on their lives. Taking care of patients is my primary focus, whether it is a first dental visit for a child or restoring a patient’s lost smile. I believe patience, compassion, and providing positive dental experiences create a strong foundation for a lifetime.”

Dr. Hayashi grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas. After graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1997, Dr. Hayashi successfully completed a postgraduate General Practice Residency Program at Ann Arbor VA/University of Michigan. He gained advanced training in hospital dentistry, pediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics.

Dr. Hayashi has been practicing in private practice in Austin since 1999. He was on staff with the St. David’s Foundation Dental Program, which concentrates on school-age children from low-income families.

He is currently a member of the American and Texas Dental Associations, Capital Area Dental Society, Texas Exes, and Chairman of the Longhorn Dental Study Club. In 2006, Dr. Hayashi was a recipient of the Dr. Kenneth Rudd Award from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for attending over 100 hours of advanced dental education.

Dr. Hayashi and his wife, Rachael Przybyla, MD, have a lovely daughter, Sloane, and a son, Lance, and three dogs: Duke, Bella, and Toby. When Dr. Hayashi is not traveling with Lance and his select baseball team, he enjoys spending time with his dogs, swimming, fitness, and the Texas Longhorns.
